James Talarico
The Democratic nominee for the 2026 U.S. Senate election in Texas, who has a Master of Education degree in Education Policy from Harvard University.
James Talarico is a charismatic and inspiring speaker whose altruistic campaign speeches have uplifted and mesmerized voters from El Paso to Houston. Talarico has served since 2018 as a member of the Texas House of Representatives. At a campaign rally on June 12, 2026, Mr. Talarico said,
“We are uniting Texans onto one team to take on this broken, corrupt political system. Jesus said, ‘The greatest among you will be a servant.’ This is not just a political battle. This is a spiritual battle between selfishness and service, between greed and greatness. After decades of this corruption, we are on the cusp of returning to those old-fashioned values: service, taking responsibility and doing what’s right even when no one is watching. …we can come together to beat this entire corrupt system.”

Talarico is an outspoken critic of legislation that now requires the display of the Ten Commandments in all elementary and secondary classrooms. He opposes the law on the constitutional grounds of separation of church and state. He calls the measure "un-American" and "un-Christian". Talarico also opposes legislation installing private school vouchers. The legislation was nevertheless approved.
On February 16, 2026, Talarico was scheduled to appear on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Colbert said CBS canceled the interview because of the Trump administration's "intensifying pressure against broadcast TV networks.” Colbert accused CBS of censorship and posted the interview to the show's YouTube page instead, where it has gained 8 million views. Then, on September 10, 2026, it happened again. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) had “threatened” ABC Network when Jimmy Kimmel Live scheduled Mr. Talarico for an interview. The segment was pulled from the show and again, posted in full to YouTube. In that interview, Talarico said,
“You can’t love God and abuse the immigrant; you can’t love God and oppress the poor. Matthew 25 tells us Christians exactly how we will be judged, and how we will be saved. By feeding the hungry, by healing the sick, by welcoming the stranger. What would Jesus do if he visited the U.S. Senate? I think he would tell the senators on the floor, “Depart from me. For I was hungry and you cut my food assistance. I was sick, and you kicked me off Medicaid. I was a stranger, and you deported me and my family.”
Therefore, Texas is freako for Talarico. Mr. Talarico is studying to be Presbyterian minister like his grandfather.
